Power Corridor ADSS Optical Cable Solution

All-dielectric self-supporting optical cable solution for power transmission lines, substations, and high-electromagnetic environments — no metallic components, no grounding required.

Scenario Overview

Power corridors present unique challenges: high electromagnetic fields, wide span requirements, and strict safety regulations prohibiting metallic cable components. ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) cable is specifically engineered for these environments.

The selection of ADSS cable depends on span length, sag requirements, wind and ice load conditions, and the voltage level of adjacent power lines.

Key Technical Requirement

ADSS cable must withstand the mechanical loads of the specified span while maintaining electrical isolation from the power infrastructure.

Power Corridor ADSS

ADSS Cable Selection by Span

Span Range Cable Type Technical Basis
Short Span (<100m) ADSS-Short Span Standard aramid yarn, suitable for distribution lines
Medium Span (100–200m) ADSS-Medium Span Reinforced aramid, designed for transmission line corridors
Long Span (200–400m) ADSS-Long Span High-strength aramid, engineered for wide-span requirements
Ultra-Long Span (>400m) ADSS-Ultra Long Maximum strength design, requires specialized engineering calculation
Power Corridor ADSS Installation

Installation Requirements

  • Span calculation: Must account for wind load, ice load, and temperature variation
  • Attachment hardware: Use ADSS-specific suspension clamps and dead-end clamps
  • Sag management: Maintain designed sag to avoid excessive tension or ground clearance issues
  • AT (Anti-Tracking) sheath: Required for cables installed within 15m of conductors
  • No grounding required: All-dielectric construction eliminates grounding needs
  • Vibration protection: Install vibration dampers at attachment points for long spans
  • Safety clearance: Maintain required clearance from power conductors per local regulations
